Melksham Dementia Action Alliance makes great progress

The Melksham Dementia Action Alliance met on Wednesday (8th November) of this week and was kindly hosted by Blenheim House.

The volunteers and officers have been working together on plans to make Melksham a more dementia friendly town for over a year now. The Dementia Alliance is made up of various organisations; Wiltshire Council, Melksham Community Area Safety Group, Melksham Town Council, Melksham Without Parish Council, Volunteer Dementia Friends Champions, Tourist Information Office, Local Healthcare professionals, Blenheim House, Alzheimer’s Support and Alzheimer’s Society.

Recently the group has been responsible for working with the Melksham Blue Pool to introduce a Dementia Friendly swim session and has held a number of local Dementia Friends sessions.

There are more Dementia Friends sessions coming up soon at Blenheim House and they are open to anyone to attend. Two sessions will take place on 17th November at 11 am and 2pm. Please call 01225 896200 and let us know you will be attending. All Welcome.
