Residents in Melksham, and the surrounding area, have the opportunity to help select the logo (four options shown below) and name of their new multi-million pound community campus.
Melksham campus, which will provide a six-lane pool, bowling greens, fitness/dance suite and gym, cricket pitch, tennis courts, a library and hall, is expected to be available for use in early 2017 with construction due to start later this year.
People are being asked to select the preferred brand and name of the new campus. Two names are being proposed – ‘Melksham House Community Campus’ and ‘Melksham Community Campus’. A selection of brands have also been designed and people can state their preference and feedback.
At Wednesday’s (11 February) Melksham Area Board a workshop session was run by the campus team to seek initial feedback on the proposed brand and names.
People have until 13 March to provide their feedback via an online survey and they can also fill in hard copy responses at Melksham Library and Melksham Town Hall.
The final logo and name will be revealed at the Melksham Area Board meeting scheduled for 15 April.
Wiltshire Council is investing nearly £80 million in local communities to provide improved facilities and services across the county. Communities will enjoy modern, state-of-the-art facilities for years to come as over half of the council’s exciting campus programme is expected to be delivered by 2017.
Wiltshire Council cabinet member with responsibility for campuses, Jonathon Seed said: “We want Melksham’s campus to reflect the unique character and personality of the local area. At every stage of planning this campus we have had invaluable and constructive feedback from local people so it’s only fitting they play their part in selecting the name and brand.
“We look forward to hearing their views and preference.”
