Health Trainer

Wiltshire Council is seeking to employ an enthusiastic Health Trainer to join the Public Health Team. We are recruiting one full time Health Trainers (37 hours per week) to work in the Calne area.


Health Trainers support people in taking responsibility for improving their own health. This might include support on healthy eating (often linked to weight loss), stopping or reducing smoking, increasing physical activity, sensible drinking and general wellbeing, signposting and helping people access other services and support.

About the role

You will contribute to tackling inequalities in health through promoting and supporting people to develop healthier behaviours and lifestyles. Your role focuses on engaging with communities who are marginalised and who experience the greatest inequalities in health.

As a Health Trainer you will also support community health promotion events and projects as required by the public health team.

About you

To work as a health trainer you are required to pass the City and Guilds level 3 health trainer certificate. If you do not have this qualification structured training will be provided within the first 2 months of employment.

You should be a good communicator and be able to engage with a wide range of partners, as well as deliver one to one client work to provide motivation and confidence to enable clients to improve health related behaviour.

Salary: £17,547 - £18,560
